ENTITY PROFILE
Virtualmech is a spin-off company (SME) of the Dep. of Mechanical Engineering of the
University of Seville that was founded in 2009. The activities of virtualmech are based on the
development of new technologies based on Computational Mechanics to improve the design
of machines, vehicles and industrial equipments. These techlogies include Multibody System
Dynamics, Finite Element Method and Computational Fluid Dynamics. In addition to the
computational procedures virtualmech is experienced in the instrumentation and testing of
machinery including the development of ad-hoc hardware and software. These activities are
carried out internationally.

Modeling and computer simulation. Testing of vehicles dynamic response.
Track geometry measurement. Vibraton measurement.
Develpment of on-board systems for the
estimation of wheel-rail contact forces .

SIMULON. General purpose software for the dynamic simulation of multibody systems
with specific modules for the modeling of railway vehicles and tracks.

vmRail. On-board mechatronic system for the state observation of railway vehicles: track
geometry measurement and estimation of wheel-rail forces. Ongoing.
