         DESCRIPCIÓN Y FINES DE LA ENTIDAD

        Electrochemical Devices Testing Lab (EDTL) offers electrochemical devices
        characterization services and ageing evaluation.
        The facility allows testing under specific profiles simulating power electrical
        requirements for batteries and supercapacitors in stationary applications
        coupled to renewable energy sources and for electric vehicles.
        The EDTLab has a flexible configuration that allows testing single cells,
        modules and small battery packs.

        TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
         * High Power Test System:
           ā 3 modular 8 kW in charge and 12 kW in discharge DC power test channels (max 120 V / 200 A).
           ā Parallel configuration to achieve 36 kW in charge and 24 kW in discharge.
           ā Advanced control and measurement (Fast voltage, current, and mode transitions).
         * Low Power Test System:
           ā 3 modular 800 W in charge and 300 W in discharge DC power test channels (max 18 V / 50 A).
           ā Master/Slave parallel and series operation up to 2,4 kW in charge and 0,9 kW in discharge.
         * Climatic Chamber:
           ā Wide temperature and humidity range (-40 to 180 ºC, 10 to 98% HR).
           ā Fast cooling and heating rate (-3,5 and +5 ºC/min respectively).
         * Data acquisition & control:
           ā Several input/output modules (analogue + digital).
           ā Development of LabVIEW® applications.
        TESTING:
         * Performance and life cycle test, fast charge /  discharge steps, capacity fade, and high current peaks evaluation.
         * Testing of batteries for consumption management of electric power and for electromobility.
         * Development of control algorithms and waveform signals to create realistic charge/ discharge profiles:
           ā Constant current, voltage, power and resistance operating modes. Frequency response analysis.
           ā Control and monitoring of environmental conditions (temperature and humidity).
