ENTITY PROFILE
ESM Research Institute into Safety and Human Factors Ltd is a private investigation
centre operating internationally with wide experience in Human Factors to control risk
in transport, especially applied to railways. Our multidisciplinary experts offer solutions
to the challenges of human reliability in the railway sector, safe behaviour and the
implementation of technical and organisational barriers as a way to prevent human failure
that may lead to accidents. Our R&D projects are aimed at the development of specifi c
tools for risk control.

TRANSAFE. Control System for the Management of Rail Real Emergency
Situations in a simulated environment.
RAIL DRIVING SIMULATOR. Design and construction of a Rail Simulator by
introducing Human Factors as a training element.
HumanScan. Railway Human Reliability Management. Application for decision-
making: Risks Assessment, events investigation, preventive measures.
