ENTITY PROFILE
Ferrocarrills de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) was founded in 1863 when it began
operating the Barcelona to Sarrià suburban line. Over the years it has incorporated
different passenger and goods transport lines both in Barcelona and in its surrounding
area.
We are a public railway company. Key facts: 80 million passengers/year, a workforce of
over 1,500, network of 292,5 km of track (metric, international and Iberian gauge), 97
stations, 2 rack railways (17.5 km of track) and 4 funiculars.
