         ENTITY PROFILE
         The laboratory of Science and Engineering of Materials (LADICIM) at the University of
         Cantabria  (UC) has been  providing  advisory  services  to companies  for 25 years and
         works to establish agreements with entities and European authorities developing R&D
         in the fi eld of railway superstructure. Experience, together with the technical and human
         resources available has enabled the organisation to develop a laboratory of materials
         with the ability to obtain recognition of ENAC (national accreditation entity) through the
         granting of the certifi cate of accreditation, international in scope, to perform tests of control
         of  behaviour on the railway superstructure components (sleepers, rails and fastening

          Project  Product  National International
                       Defi nition and development of tests on elements of superstructure of high speed
                       railway for the accreditation of a laboratory. Ministry of Development.
                       Development of trials relating to type-approval, control of manufacture and
                       supply of pads for railway fastenings. Ministry of Development.
                       Feasibility study of reuse of short fi bre glass reinforced polyamide to inject
                       fastening parts of railway for Spanish high-speed (AVE). Ministry of Development.
                       NEUVIA . Design of slab track system using a mixture of tires out of use and
                       polyurethane resin. Ministry of Environment.
                       RECYTRACK. Elastomeric material based on end-of-life tyres blended with
                       organic resin for railway applications. Life+ 2010. European Comission.
