TRANSPORT SYSTEMS RESEARCH GROUP
ENTITY PROFILE
The Transport Systems Research Group (GIST) of University of Cantabria was created
in 2004 to specialise in research and development in the fi eld of transport engineering.
The group’s main work is based around transport networks, demand modelling, traffi c
engineering and railway systems engineering. The group actively collaborates with other
national and international universities and research centres in Madrid, Catalunya, Burgos,
Chile, USA, Italy and Holland (TU Delft). The group’s scientifi c contribution in the fi eld
of railways has been disseminated through various congresses and publications: CITF
(Zaragoza), CIT (Madrid), ICCSEEC (Greece), SRRE (TU Delft), IAVSD (Manchester) or
the journal of Accident Analysis and Prevention (article currently under review). UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTRES
