ENTITY PROFILE
The research group INFORSE (Innovation in Rail, Road Safety and Ergonomics) from
the University of Valencia is a multidisciplinary team. Its main objective is to promote and
develop innovative research and quality in the fi eld of safety in road and rail transport
from the point of view of technical and human factors. It develops and collaborates in
research both with public entities (FGV, Adif, Metro Madrid, University of Cantabria GIDAI
group, UPM CITEF group,...) and private entities (Renfe Operadora, THALES,...).

Determining the level of risk accepted in the functioning of the railway in
Spain for the different existing subsystems.
Determining the level of risk acceptance in the metro rail system of
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV).
Risk analysis of the implementation of a timely automatic braking system (FAP) for
the protection of tram network enclave of FGV.
Risk analysis in the circulation when a train stops in a tunnel with no possibility of
communication through radio. Metro Madrid.
Development of a skills dictionary in the fi eld of rail safety. Validation of safety skills
model. THALES.
Development of the profesional profi le of driver and circulation staff of tram and
metro and determination of selecting test. FGV.
Improvement of automatic braking system on board the train (digital ASFA) through
the development of an ergonomic prototype. Adif and Renfe Operadora.
Development of a manual of attention, sleep and fatigue in the railway driving:
Manual and sofware with case study.
