ENTITY PROFILE
WiComTec is a UPC research group with extensive experience in radio communications
systems. We work on the optimization of systems such as GSM-R, TETRA and their migration
to LTE and NR (5G) for communications between stations, trains, control signaling and
emergencies. Also, in radio technologies for sensorization and with special emphasis on the
optimization of energy consumption. Design and optimization of long-distance
communications beyond classic solutions, for example through multi-hop communications in
mesh networks, leaky coaxial / radiant cable and multi-antenna systems (MIMO). Design and
realization of measurement campaigns for the deployment of radio communications, planning
