DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION

The laboratory specialises in determining the thermal insulation of
materials, products and systems. It has state of the art equipment for testing
the thermal transmittance of components installed in railway vehicles.
Capacity for climate tests and simulation of prototypes on end-use
conditions.
Evaluation of optical and thermal characteristics.

TEST FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, TYPES OF TESTING AND/OR 53*"-4

The Thermal Laboratory at Tecnalia has the capacity to carry out the following tests:

* Determination of thermal transmittance through experimental test according to EN ISO 8990 (Hot box test).
* Determination of thermal transmittance through calculation according to EN ISO 6946.
* Determination of the thermal conductivity of materials according to EN 12667.
* Condensation risk assessment according to EN ISO 13788.
* "Ad-hoc" climatic tests according to customer's needs: thermal shock and durability cycles.
* Evaluation of the thermal performance of glazing through optical methods: reflection, transmission, etc ...
