DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION
TECSA Empresa Constructora, S.A. was founded as a railway maintenance
company in 1971 and has since become a benchmark in the sector. The
TECSA MACHINERY POOL primarily aims to plan and manage human and
material resources which enable the correct and profitable use of the
company's machinery on track work. It also aims to provide the necessary
support, consultancy, analysis and coordination services, for which it avails
of the following resources:
- A highly qualified team with extensive experience.
- Numerous facilities for maintenance and storage.
- Cutting-edge machinery for track infrastructure.

Tecsa's track machinery maintenance activity takes place in the industrial facilities at the Machinery Pool, located in the
town of Pancorbo in Burgos, between Calle San Nicolás and the RENFE station (Madrid-Irún railway line). The range of
facilities at the Machinery Pool comprises a total of three plants which are allocated according to their functionality as
follows:
* WORKSHOP plant with inspection and repair pits, as well as machine tools to carry out repairs or adjustments to
machinery and tracks exiting onto the rail network.
* Storage plant for materials, light work machinery and oil storage.
* Parking plant and axle and bogie warehouse.
The facilities also include: Four warehouses with storage shelves for tools and spare parts./ Machine washer with oil
decanter and separator./ Recycling point for waste disposal./ Changing facilities./ Offices (Building with two floors
attached to the workshop)./ 2 rail yards, one of which has an inspection pit./ Test tracks./ 24hr surveillance site.
Given the characteristics of TECSA's machinery, two types of actions are defined with regards to their operation as
special track vehicles: one concerning safety and the other concerning maintenance, both of which are required by ADIF
1.- Safety (IS1, 1S2): It is performed, both in the workshop as well as on site, on all vehicles each year (IS1) or every
two years (IS2). It is a type of inspection that aims to ensure the correct safety status of all vehicle components and
equipment.
2.- Maintenance (IM): It is carried out on all vehicles every ten years. It is carried out in the Machinery Pool.
In order to carry out the aforementioned activities, the Machinery Pool is equipped with adequate means and facilities
which are sufficient in number and include, among others: Winch/ Drill press/ Circular saw/ Reciprocating saw/ Grinders/
Arc and MIG welder machines/ Self-propelled crane/ Forklifts/ Bridge crane, etc.
