         DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION

        This is a laboratory specialised in digital fabrication, operating nationally
        and internationally. We work in a number of different fields, including the
        railway industry as a particular field of interest.  Our primary role is total
        project development, being involved from the initial idea conception through
        to prototype and short series development. We work in partnership and on
        projects with companies, universities and technology centres offering
        all-round services and one-off joint ventures to generate 3D prototypes,
        designs, models, the manufacture of electronic circuit boards, programming
        and software development amongst other services.

        The digital manufacturing laboratory has the following equipment at its facilities:

        * Large 3 axis CNC milling machine. High speed, precise and powerful. Its applications include: cutting of models and
        3D prototypes; manufacture of full scale parts, mould manufacturing, etc. Materials: Plexiglas, Bakelite, DM, PP,
        aluminium, wood, PVC and brass, as well as others.
        * High precision ROLAND Modela MDX -20 cutter and scanner with 3 axes. It is able to model and scan thanks to its
        two heads. Applications: printing circuits on copper boards, scanning 3-dimensional objects, cutting wax moulds, etc.
        The materials it can work with include plastics, wood, wax, high definition foam, amongst others.
        * CO2 Epilog Laser System: a complex machine used for both laser cutting and etching. Applications: parts cutting,
        rasterising, signage, prototype cutting and etching. Materials employed: glass, metals, marble, rubber, aluminium,
        ceramics.
        * HP 3D printer. The material used is ABS. In the railway industry, many applications have made use of this printer: tCat
        equipment prototype: (www.tcat.es ), the manufacture of prototypes for track switchings and engines, gears, etc.
        * Makerbot 3D printer. It has multiple uses in the railway industry as it enables us to make prototypes of and reproduce
        any design, part or assembly.
        * Roland cutter/plotter: a high performance cutting machine. It can produce signs that require the most advanced
        technology. Materials: vinyl, paper, plastic, cloth.
        *Programming tools (Arduino, Raspberry Pi). We use programming tools such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi for developing
        a variety of electronic applications and printed circuit boards.
