ACOUSTIC LABORATORY (*)

DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION

Laboratory specialized in the determination of acoustic features of several
materials, products and systems.

The laboratory´s facilities include airborne sound transmission rooms,
reverberation room and equipment that allows the evaluation of sound
insulation and sound absorption of all types of train elements.

The laboratory has long experience in developing the following acoustic tests:

* Acoustic absorption according to ISO 354 of floor & wall coverings, seats, panels, screens, ceilings and other
elements.
Facilities: Reverberation room of 210 m3.

* Sound absorption coefficient of materials, in normal incidence, according to ISO 10534-2, with an impedance tube.

* Airborne sound insulation according to ISO 10140-2 (former ISO 140-3) of horizontal & vertical elements,
floors, panels, ceilings, doors, windows, glazings, etc.
Facilities: Vertical and horizontal airborne sound transmission rooms, provided with technical features that allow
testing surfaces till 14m2.
