TESTS HIGH SPEED LAB
ADMINISTRADOR DE INFR. FERROVIARIAS (ADIF)
DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION
In order to develop new research and studies related to the interaction
between high-speed rolling stock and infrastructure, ADIF has specially
equipped facilities for the execution of these activities.
It is a small building near the railway line, which makes it especially suitable
for the development of these analyses.
AREAS OF ACTIVITY
t Investigation of new phenomena related to High Speed t Approval of equipment
t Test campaigns on rolling stock t R&D Projects
t Test campaigns on infrastructure
t Testing time for new equipment
TEST FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, TYPES OF TESTING AND/OR 53*"-4
This laboratory consists mainly of a technical building 15 meters from the platform. It is located at kilometer 69 of the
050 line (High Speed Line Limit TP-Ferro / Madrid Atocha). At that point, trains currently reach a sustained speed of 300
km / h. For controlled trials, that speed can be increased.
The building has two workrooms with ten positions and a warehouse for equipment. There are network connections,
wireless communication and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Near to the track, there is a specially designed
technical cabinet able to include communications equipment and different control equipment It offers resistance heating
and air conditioning. The building also has a weather station.
The types of test that can be performed are varied. In general:
*Tests of interaction with high-speed trains.
* Remote monitoring equipment and systems. Normally they are located in track and catenary.
*Testing of new systems.
In all cases is often trying to equipment in track (or catenary) which are wired to the tecnical cabinet to track and control
building. There the appropriate personnel can perform the necessary control and monitoring.
