DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANISATION
Testing, modelling, and simulation of systems which include
electrochemical systems for energy storage such as PEM fuel cells,
batteries and supercapacitors for both electrified transport and stationary
applications. Since 2009 Electrén Chair has been created to enhace
research and development for electric traction.

The Laboratory for Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems is located in EPS of University Carlos III of Madrid
Leganes.
Tests:
* Rated capacity (Aāh).
* Duty-cycle roundtrip efficiency.
* Dependence of the state-of-charge on the open circuit voltage.
* Voltammetry.
* Simulation of storage systems integration in micro-grids and electrified transport.
* Dynamical modeling and experimental model validation.
Equipment:
* Programable dc electronic load 80V/300 A.
* Programable dc power souce Sorensen 20V/160 A.
* Programable dc power souce SGI 60V/160 A.
* dSpace acquisition and control system.
* PEM fuel cell Nexa 1.2 kW.
* Li-ion, Pb batteries.
* Supercapacitors.
